Everyone knows about the problems that Flash gives to Ubuntu at 64bits.
What if i tell you mine is perfectly working, and that i didn't do much?
At first, go on Adobe Flash Player download site for linux, and download it from the link on the bottom of the page. It's a .tar.gz.
While it's downloading, check if the directory ~/.mozilla/plugins/ exists, and to do it, give:
mkdir ~/.mozilla/plugins/
If it prints: mkdir: unable to create the directory [...]
Then, the directory exists, and so it's all right. If it doesn't print anything, it's all right the same, you made the directory ^^
When the download has finished, open the terminal and do:
nautilus ~/.mozilla/plugins/
And open the .tar.gz too, and copy the libflashplayer.so file (which is in the archive), into the folder opened by nautilus.
At last, if you do
ls ~/.mozilla/plugins/
In the output you'll see libflashplayer.so too. If it's there, good, you finished! Reboot Ubuntu and that's all.
FAQ:
I already tried to do different things to get Flash, but none of those worked. This doesn't work either!! What have I to do?
Nice mess, now you have everything installed and nothing working.
Before doing all this it's written on the guide, you gotta remove all the programs / plugins that you have already installed.
At least, you could try going on System > Amministration > Package Manager, and there you search for flashplugin-nonfree. If this package is installed, all right, remove it and re-try.
I've got more users who use Ubuntu, and obviously more account. But the flash plugin works just on mine! How do i make it work on the others too?
Easy, just use the directorty /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/.
So, do what's written on the guide, and at last do:
sudo cp ~/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/
And you have Flash working on all your users.
