If you really wanna know it... I have been ignoring I had a 64bits computer till 2 months ago, while reading Ubuntu forum, I found out that Intel Core 2 Duo were at 64bits... Whose is the fault of? A few mine, yeah, but a few Windows too, cause they gave me at 32bits... Come on, can you give a 32bits OS on a 64 machine?? I paid them too!
Anyway, i'll go ahead on the guide.. it's quite easy, do on the terminal:
lshw -class processor | grep width
And it'll print the width, 64 or 32 bits.
For be really sure, you can check on Google if you processor is at 64 or 32 bits :P
